Description
The Manager, Creative for field and product marketing will lead a team of creatives and provide direction for localized brand content for our field, inclusive of financial advisors, advisor teams and localized engagement teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring our brand message is consistent yet tailored to diverse regional markets. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to manage a team that creates engaging, relevant content for various field marketing programs. This role understands and is successful with the balance between strategy, concepts, copy and design. The Manager collaborates on the evolution of Thrivent brand and is responsible for the intimate knowledge and the application of Thrivent’s localized brand strategy.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the creation and localization of creative to ensure it resonates with regional audiences while maintaining brand consistency.
- Brings big ideas to the table while knowing how to get the best thinking from creative teams. Leads team to conduct effective presentations of creative work and concepts to business partners. Does research to be ready for pitches, including understanding the audience.
- Consults with and builds relationships with business partners on creative strategies and concepts to achieve business goals through influencing and collaboration skill.
- Collaborates with Brand Team on brand evolution and application of brand by internal and external creative teams. This includes Thrivent’s brand messaging, tone/voice, style and visual design for all channels.
- Guides creative team to flex their creative muscle, grow, and flourish within their discipline. Valuing the work of the team to get the best outcomes for the brand.
- Gives specific feedback to the teams (internal/external) and business partners that is constructive, smart and intelligible providing definite direction on where to take the work next.
- Has a hand in writing the briefs and/or ensuring that a creative team won’t proceed without it being as good as it possibly can be. Uses the brief to evaluate work.
- Performs writing and/or design services as needed.
- Assist in creating high-performing creative teams and culture; select, develop, coach, reward and recognize team members for applying their specific expertise in creative and effective ways that strengthen and protect our brand. Teams may be comprised of internal and external resources.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, design or related field or equivalent work experience.

6+ years corporate communications, journalism, marketing or creative department/agency experience.

Experience in creative team leadership.

Experience is creative development and/or direction for all disciplines and channels.

Thorough knowledge of the creative development process and writing and visual design principles.

Experience in working in corporation that had an internal creative team.
Preferred:

Has attended photoshoots, film productions, directed direct mail, print, web, outdoor, PR, etc.

Knows the latest trends across creative disciplines.

Is well-read and empathetic, understanding of the end audience, their need states and pain points and the external factors that impact their decision making.

Able to travel once a month (minimum) or as project needs arise.
