Job Summary
The Associate Data Integrity Analyst plays a critical role in data governance, security master content management, and resolving financial data discrepancies as they relate to security master records. The Associate Data Integrity Analyst is an entry-level position responsible for supporting basic data quality assurance and validation efforts across various systems and datasets under the guidance of more experienced analysts. This role is designed to build foundational knowledge in data governance, data management tools, and organizational data workflows. The Associate helps maintain data accuracy and consistency through basic error detection, routine data maintenance, and reporting. You will gain exposure to organizational data governance and experience with data integrity industry tools and practices.
The Associate Data Integrity Analyst is a key member of the Thrivent Data Integrity team. This team supports the investment management process by ensuring the accuracy and quality of the Security Master File and related security data. Additionally, this team is focused on enhancing the data experience for investment teams and downstream consumers, ensuring the validity and consistency of security data across the organization.
This role is ideal for individuals with a strong attention to detail, and an interest in the inner workings of investment data systems and financial instruments.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in the identification and resolution of data quality issues.
- Perform basic data entry, cleaning, and validation tasks.
- Run routine reports and monitor data for inconsistencies.
- Document data processes and standard operating procedures.
- Support the implementation of data integrity tools and practices.
- Complete repeatable data maintenance processes and workflows.
- Maintain and update security master data and reference data (e.g., ratings, benchmarks, identifiers).
- Support Data Governance and Data Quality practices including engagement with key business partners and consumers.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, investment teams, compliance and IT to provide security data support.
- Support the enhancement, management, and ongoing maintenance of security master content.
- Monitor and validate investment data across core systems (e.g., portfolio accounting, order management, performance).
- Perform daily reconciliation of trade activity, holdings, and pricing data between internal systems and external sources (custodians, vendors, counterparties).
- Escalate complex data issues to senior analysts or leader with appropriate documentation.
- Assist with the SMF updates and maintenance as a result of the Cash and Position reconciliation teams.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business, finance, accounting or related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and eagerness to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Curiosity and drive to understand how data flows through complex systems.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and process improvement-minded.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Continuous learning mindset to understand foundatioal processes and skills of data governance and management.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Basic Microsoft office skiils with emphasis in using Excel or basic data tools.
Preferred:
- Experience working under tight timelines with competing demands.
- Experience improving data quality.
- Desire to learn and understand investment industry knowledge and business processes.
Additional Information
- This position requires you to work on-site in Minneapolis, MN a minimum of three days a week and subject to change in the future.
